SAFE SPORT
Tri-Cities Figure Skating Club is committed to providing a safe environment for its members that is free of misconduct and harassment. The club will not tolerate or condone any form of harassment or misconduct of any of its members, including athletes, coaches, officials, directors, employees, parents, volunteers or any other persons while they are participating in or preparing for a figure skating activity or event conducted under the auspices of U.S. Figure Skating. All forms of misconduct are unacceptable and in direct conflict with U.S. Figure Skating rules.
Volunteers who will be regular contact with Athletes are required to complete the Safesport training and undergo a background check through the US Figure Skating Safesport program. Athletes who are over 18 and who skate in a team or pair with an under-18 skater are also required to complete the training. Coaches are required to take the training to be compliant with USFS. Members of TCFSC board of directors are also required to be USFS compliant in Safesport.
The online training takes around 3 hours and can be completed in several sessions. Log in to the USFS members-only site using your USFS membership number and click on the 2020-21 Compliance Link. The training is free of charge for USFS members and you will receive a certificate of completion that is valid for a year. Non Members can take the training through the Safesport.org link (above) for a fee of $20.
