Join the Tri-Cities Figure Skating Club
What's the difference between a Toyota Arena "Learn to Skate USA" membership and a TCFSC membership?
Beginning skaters usually start in group lessons with the Toyota Arena Learn to Skate program and then join the figure skating club once they advance to private lessons and testing in the United States Figure Skating Association (USFS) or competing in USFS competitions.
Learn to Skate USA is your introduction to the USFS. Annual membership is $16. Membership benefits include secondary sport insurance, a USFS welcome packet, and the opportunity to participate in LTS performances as well as USFS sanctioned events such as the TCFSC's Fun in the Sun competition at the Arena. Registration for Learn to Skate USA is here.
A TCFSC Membership is a membership with the USFSA which allows a skater to enter USFSA sanctioned competitions and take USFS tests. Learn about USFS testing here. A TCSFC membership allows skaters or their parents to serve on the Board of Directors and supports TCFSC sponsored events like the Christmas Showcase, Halloween Skating Social, and our local USFS test session and competition.
When and how do I join the club?
Our Membership year conforms to the membership year of United States Figure Skating from July 1 - June 30. Our contract explains what portion of your membership fee goes to the USFS and what portion is used to support local club activities.
Note! USFS members over 18 years who are "volunteers in any sanctioned events or club activities who have regular contact with Athletes" must complete Safesport training. "Covered individuals" who are required to complete Safesport Training are described here. For over 18 TCFSC members who are "covered individuals" please visit https://www.usfsaonline.org to create your USFS online account and complete your online Safesport Training through the USFS members only portal. Your Safesport compliance will be reflected in your USFS member profile.
