Our Mask Policy.......

Tri-Cities Figure Skating Club will enforce the Washington State mask mandate. This means that all parents and skaters must wear masks inside the building at all times and includes parents observing in the upper bleacher area waiting for their child to skate. Masks must fully cover your nose and mouth.

Skaters on Freestyle sessions are required to wear masks at all times when inside the building. Skaters may remove their masks when they step on the ice and must put them back on when exiting the ice. We do understand that some skaters have medical exemptions from wearing a mask. If that is the case we are continuing to allow you to warm up & tie your skates outside of the building then walk directly to the ice. Non-mask wearing skaters are NOT allowed to enter the Toyota Arena to warm up and tie their skates near the front door. This policy will be strictly enforced. Skaters & parents choosing to not follow this rule will be asked to leave the ice without a refund at that time and loss of all ice privileges may be taken away.

While we understand everyone has a different level of concern regarding COVID-19 Tri-Cities Figure Skating Club takes the risk very seriously. We have coaches, skaters, and parents who are at higher risk for the virus and we feel it is important to still offer skaters their sport and coaches their ability to work during this time in an environment where they are safe and protected from the virus. Additionally, if a coach tests positive he/she and other members of our coaching staff and skaters will have to quarantine for at least 14 days. This would most likely shut our program down due to a lack of staffing and could potentially lead to a long term if not a permanent loss of ice time, which would negatively affect your skater and his/her ability to continue doing something they really enjoy. So, while we know masks are not always comfortable, and everyone has their own opinion about them please understand that we are just trying to provide a healthy place for our skaters to train & a safe place for our coaches to work.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in supporting a safe figure skating environment.

COVID-19 Freestyle Rules

When skaters arrive at the building they will check in at the front door. The greeter will confirm the skater has paid for the session, is dressed for skating, passes the COVID checklist & applies hand sanitizer.

Skaters may bring in Zuca Bags with only the essential items of Skates, Guards, Gloves, Warm Layer, Water Bottle & Tissues. Absolutely NO KISS & CRIES, NO notebooks, etc. We are asking skaters to keep all of their belongings inside their Zuca Bag while they are on the ice.

Skaters will arrive at the rink dressed for practice. You will NOT be allowed to use the bathrooms as a changing room.

Skaters will do their off ice dynamic warm up outside in the parking lot keeping 6’ away from each other. If weather does not allow them to be outside they may warm up in the lobby maintaining a safe distance.

All skaters must subscribe for their sessions at least 24 hours in advance. No skaters will be allowed on the ice without payment.

Skaters will sit 6’ apart in the lobby area when tying and untying their skates.

Skaters will maintain a distance of 6’ from one another while waiting to get on the ice at the gate we normally enter from.

All skaters, coaches, and parents will wear masks at all times inside the building. Skaters may remove their masks ONLY while skating.

Skaters may only bring guards, gloves, tissues, and a water bottle out to the ice. NO kiss & cry bags, phones, notebooks, etc. On ice belongings must be placed 2’ apart along the boards. Please place these items 2’ apart from one another and away from the coaches. All tissues must be thrown into a garbage can immediately after being used. No congregating at the boards for water breaks or socializing.

Skaters will maintain a 6’ distance from their coaches during lessons.

Skaters will not be allowed to stand by the boards and talk or socialize during the session. NO EXCEPTIONS.

At the end of the session, all skaters on the ice will exit the ice through the hockey boxes and walk around to the lobby, maintaining a safe distance the entire time.

To help with social distancing in the lobby we are asking parents to drop their skaters off. Feel free to wait in your car or come back at the end of the session. If you do not feel comfortable leaving your child alone in the rink, you are welcome to wait in the upper bleacher area. We ask you to please maintain social distancing if you choose to stay inside.

Only skaters scheduled and paid will be allowed to skate.

As the State & Federal guidelines change so will our policies, we appreciate your patience through all of this. If you have any comments, concerns or compliments please feel free to contact us at tcsfssecretary@gmail.com or tcfscpresident@gmail.com.
